Featured Keynote Speaker: Dr. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
We are pleased to present our featured keynote presenter for the plenary on Saturday, Dr. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Management and Founding Co-Director, Quality of Life Research Center at Claremont Graduate University, and the former head of the department of psychology at the University of Chicago and of the department of sociology and anthropology at Lake Forest College. Dr. Csikszentmihalyi, a Hungarian psychologist, is known for his research on the experience of flow, a psychological concept he introduced in his best-selling book Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience (Harper Perennial, 1990). Other renowned works on positive psychology include: A Life Worth Living: Contributions to Positive Psychology, Applied Positive Psychology: Improving Everyday Life, Health, Schools, Work, and Society, and Deviant Heroes and Social Heroism in Everyday Life: Activist and Artists. He has been the principal investigator on eight grants in the last 10 years, and is a member of the American Academy of Education, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the National Academy of Leisure Studies.
